★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nonostante avessimo prenotato circa una 40ina di minuti prima del ns arrivo, ci deve essere stata una evidente incomprensione tra chi ha preso la prenotazione (la signora) e chi organizza la sala (può succedere).
Al mio "se ci sono problemi..." anziché "rimediare" abbiamo ricevuto, per tutto il tempo di permanenza, un trattamento molto "freddo e schivo" sia dalla signora, sia dal [credo] capo sala. Non altrettanto dal cameriere che è sempre stato gentile ed attento, direi impeccabile anche nei dettagli.
Abbiamo mangiato discretamente e bevuto altrettanto. Ma nulla da ricordare.
Il conto? Nella media o forse poco più.
 Although we had booked about 40 minutes before our arrival, there must have been an obvious misunderstanding between those who took the reservation (the lady) and who organizes the room (it can happen).
At my "if there are problems ..." instead of "remedying" we received, for the whole time of stay, a very "cold and shy" treatment both from the lady and from the [I think] head of the room. Not so much from the waiter who has always been kind and attentive, I would say impeccable even in the details.
We ate discreetly and drank the same. But nothing to remember.
The bill? Average or maybe a little more.

DODGY owner trying to add more to your check (for tourists)
For example: on board was writed White Sauvignon Blanc 3.5€ per glass, on check was 4.5€. Explication : "That is price for staying at bar, not at table" but nobody presented me a drink menu at table.
We ordered "Dolce" home made - 5€ on menu 6€ on check. Explication : Special dolce is more than menu.
Then he tried to do an argument like "But we don't charge for table" - Mate, I ate on "Gran canale" at a pretty restaurant without "coperta" and I left tips more than your stupid overcharge because I felt good and enjoyed that meal.
Me and other 10.000 tourists who already ate there , was feeling fooled! It's not about 2€ extra , it is about that stupid feeling of beeing fooled.
You want more costumers? Be honest and polite! Don't fool and don't do extra charge hopping nobody will check.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice cozy restaurant behind the main square 'Piazza Ferretto' in Mestre and very close to the main Theatre. Very fresh fish dishes, also considering that we were there right after Christmas (12/27) and all fish markets are closed in those days. Very nice and warm ambience.
Very recommended alternative to the more expensive restaurants in Venice, especially if one has an accommodation in the centre of Mestre.
