J	John Maull on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am not sure how Da Tonino is a Michelin restaurant. The food and service were sub par and unremarkable. There were so many issues with our meal at this top-rated restaurant. The food was ordinary and uncreative. In fact, I cannot remember a single thing that my dining companions and I ate. Nothing stood out. The service was simply dreadful. First, the main waiter was unfriendly and unhelpful, and lacked any personality. The rest of the staff barely spoke and seemed to be going through the motions. Second, they served a corked wine (it happens) and when we brought it to their attention, they initially resisted and then when they agreed to replace it, it took fifteen minutes to bring another bottle of wine. We just sat there with our glasses empty. Third, they placed one of the risotto dishes in front of the wrong person (not sure how this happens in a Michelin restaurant!). It took them several minutes to realize that a dish was missing. They then told us that it would take 20 minutes to prepare a new risotto dish. This restaurant is a 20 minute walk from the town of Capri. There are so many great restaurants in Capri that it is definitely not worth a 40 minute round trip to eat at this overrated restaurant.

From the exceptional service to fantastic dining options on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we were overwhelmed with the high quality and fantastic gastronomic offering. Far be it the fact that this place has exceeded all expectations and probably remains the best meal of 2017 for us. Stop reading and go now if you have the opportunity. You will be glad you did and hope to record the same experience as We did!

Each dish was excellently prepared and a pleasure to experience. The only thing more impressive was the personable nature of the entire staff. Everyone was warm and friendly. We came later in the night and perhaps this allowed the team to pay greater attention to us as the dinner rush had died off. It's also worth mentioning that the walk to and from the restaurant out of the square is scenic and enjoyable both before and after the meal

Keeping true Italian simplicity with minimal ingredients but extracting the most flavor from these few ingredients with expertise and grace.
