★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing food, atmosphere and service. Food is very authentic Italian, prices are very good, servers are friendly and attentive to detail. Menu has all the amazing classic Italian and Capri special dishes. We tried sea food pasta and it tasted so rich and fresh. We also loved ravioli. Out of all the restaurants we tried in Capri, Al grottino was our favorite. If you are visiting Capri for a day or more, you won’t regret eating at Al grottino. Gianfranco is such a down to earth, humble person. Have a chat with him if you eat here.

The owner Gianfranco was super nice with us and he even gave us a table when it was super late even more it was my birthday and he sing with me my birthday song. The food was INCREDIBLE! I recommend this place for sure and I will come back whenever I can ! Thank you Gianfranco!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic restaurant away from the madness of the main squares. From the second we walked in we were well taken care of. The menu consists of an extensive wine selection and great array of Italian classics. Everything we ate was delicious. The homemade pastas were exquisite and all the seafood was extremely fresh and tasty. You can tell the owner really cares about his restaurant and clientele since he and his staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. If we ever are lucky enough to return to Capri we will certainly eat here again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A true Italian classic. Can’t get more authentic than this. The best food I’ve tasted in the island. And I’ve been to Michelin stars, seaside best rated restaurants in this island. But they don’t come close to what Al Grottino can serve you. Big mistake if you don’t eat here. If you want to experience true Capri, you cannot leave without eating here. Meet the owner, Gianfranco and enjoy his hospitality. Eat seafood pasta, or eat anything on the menu. It’s all amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The house speciality grottinetti pasta was very average tasting. Fish/sea bream in lemon sauce was quite okay, nothing special. Veal Escalopes in madeira sauce were quite good tasting, but portion size was just ridiculously small, three bites for me.
Overall experience was just alright for me, but the portion size ruined it a bit.
