★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Be prepared. There was no menu when we went - the food is served family style, meaning that it's whatever mom has in store - and there will be plenty. Maria herself will be there to ensure that you are enjoying your food, and it is highly unlikely that you will not enjoy it. If you like "Italian" food, but haven't had AUTHENTIC Italian food, this establishment will show you everything you've been missing. Bring friends and family, because you'll need help. Be prepared with Google Translate if you don't know any Italian, or you can tell them "Whatever you bring us is what we will eat" (in Italian of course), and you'll be in good hands.
The entire atmosphere is that of a family dining room. When we entered, everyone stared at the newcomers for a moment before Mama Maria ushered us into chairs and started trying to find one of her family members who spoke English to come help us. Extremely warm and welcome, and the first place in Italy to make me feel welcome. 10/10. If I could give a Michelin Star, I would.
