The food was very good with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and amuse bouche and the atmosphere warm and relaxed, but what made the evening so enjoyable was the perfect service. The staff were charming , friendly, and attentive without being obtrusive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good service, good enough good, a bit expensive: €195/person. 4.5 courses tasting menu on the new year eve(meat and seafood) with matching wines, it is fixed price even though one cannot drink alcohol. Lamp chop was overcooked.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent service and food tonight. Our nicest meal so far in Rome. Staff so welcoming and friendly. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend the carbonara 3 ways. Would 100% return. I had the amberjack fish for main, my husband had the beef fillet, both were delicious. Too full for dessert sadly. Thank you for such a wonderful evening.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ad Hoc was one of the best restaurants we have ever dined at. The food was on par with far more expensive places we have been to over the years. They graciously offered our party a glass of sparkling wine when we were seated and then an amuse bouche. From there we had an excellent dinner featuring lots of truffles. The service was perfect; attentive but not overly pushy. If we return to Rome in the future we will be sure to visit Ad Hoc again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great restaurant. I've booked in advance and even confirmed via email but when we arrive we weren't on the guest list. The staff was very nice and seated us within a few minutes. The food was great (the only thing that I think can be a little better is the dessert) and the scent of the truffles filled the entire restaurant. We spent there 3 hours but it passed like minutes. Would definitely go back. Total was around 180 Euros and felt like it was great value for money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The service was good, the atmosphere was great, but the food was reminiscent of something I would receive in a cafeteria. The highlight of the three course “land” tasting menu was the pasta, which was unfortunately the worst pasta I tasted during my four night stay in Rome (although Rome is full of great pasta so the bar is very high). The low point of the meal was the final course, which consisted of two piles of beef and pork mush. I can’t imagine how a high end establishment such as Ad Hoc could view that meal as acceptable. You can certainly do better when deciding where to dine in the eternal city.
