★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything was great here, nice clean rooms, comfy beds, hot showers, and epic views!
Dinner was super tasty and breakfast was huge too!
I recommend you to visit the WW1 open air museum and also walk to the nearby mountain to the cross for the sunrise in the morning!
They speak English and yes you can pay by card!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maybe earlier in this season this rifugio is a welcoming spot for hikers. We were there on the last weekend in the fall and it seemed that the staff had had enough of visitors. Other than the owner's son who showed us around, no one greeted us or talked with us. There are a couple of women who work there who won't even make eye contact with you and are very grumpy. It was quite cold in the building and especially in our bedroom. The only place to sit is in the dining area at your assigned table. You can sit there during the day to hang out and have a cappuccino or a beer from the bar but the seats are hard and there's no comfortable seating area or living room space. We met the owner the morning we were headed out and he was very nice and helpful but he was really the only one that seemed invested in the success of the rifugio. The others hung out on their phones or all sitting at a table together while you sat alone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommend this hut! It was a long long way but definitely worth it! Once all the tourists are gone, you can enjoy the amazing views around! Near the cable car, there is a spot where you can take a picture (free it charge). Lots of galleries (military tunnels) all around. Great food! The best breakfast on Alta Via I - this is the only place offering an omelet with bacon! You should definitely try a steak with vegetables (mushrooms) there! Clean and warm room! Shower (free of charge!)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pricy - but very unique. We stayed at the dormitory, which was nearly 100 euro per person. Compared to other rifugi in the dolomites, the price is very high. But who else get to sleep above the clouds and warm up in the sauna with sunset-views? Friendly staff and nice clientele.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Would have been super nice if there where more shields to go down to Cortina with Ski again... Maybe it's a quiet agreement between the lift and the VERY HELPFUL and polite taxi drivers on the hut down where you need to pay 7 Euro for getting back to Lagazuoi Pass!!!
