★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Siamo sempre nell'area del Parco degli Acquedotti, tutto è splendido. Ma del lastricato dell'Antica Roma è rimasto quasi nulla : a Roma chi governa è troppo impegnato a NON mettere riparo alle buche per occuparsi di cultura.....
We are always in the area of the Parco degli Acquedotti, everything is splendid. But almost nothing remains of the pavement of Ancient Rome: in Rome those who govern are too busy NOT to shelter the holes to deal with culture ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Piccolo tratto dell'antica Via Latina, strada più antica della più famosa via Appia. Questo piccolo tratto dà bene l'idea della stratificazione avvenuta nei secoli, tra abitazioni di nuova costruzione, tombe romane ed alcune tracce del Borghetto Latino (alcune mattonelle del pavimento di alcune ex baracche)
Small section of the ancient Via Latina, the oldest street of the most famous Via Appia. This small stretch gives a good idea of the stratification that took place over the centuries, between newly built houses, Roman tombs and some traces of the Borghetto Latino (some floor tiles of some former barracks)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Per farsi un'idea durante una passeggiata naturalistica alla Caffarella. Questi resti archeologici sono ai bordi settentrionali del parco e sono solo un piccolo assaggio delle sorprese che si incontrano addentrandosi all'interno della Valle della Caffarella o, per i più volonterosi, nel Parco Archeolgico dell`Appia Antica percorrendone i suoi sentieri. Quelle in fotografia si potrebbero definire "rovine dimenticate" (anche perché nessuno dei preposti si preoccupa di metterci un cartello) su una strada romana di una certa importanza che uscendo da Roma portava a Capua. Questa cittadina all'epoca si chiamava Casilium e da lì la via Latina si congiungeva con la Via Appia. I reperti rimasti sono sicuramente resti di qualche tomba/sepolcro, come in ben altro stato di conservazione, se ne trovano nella vicinissima area delle Tombe della via Latina.
To get an idea during a naturalistic walk to the Caffarella. These archaeological remains are at the northern edges of the park and are just a small taste of the surprises that one encounters entering the Valle della Caffarella or, for the more willing, in the Archaeological Park of the Appia Antica along its paths. Those in the photograph could be defined as "forgotten ruins" (also because none of the supervisors bothered to put a sign on them) on a Roman road of a certain importance which, leaving Rome, led to Capua. This town at the time was called Casilium and from there the Via Latina joined the Via Appia. The remains are surely remains of some tomb / sepulcher, as in quite another state of conservation, are found in the nearby area of the Tombs of the Via Latina.
