Le Quattro Fontane di Messina costituivano un apparato scenografico collocato nel quadrivio fra le cinquecentesche vie Austria e Cardines. Rispettivamente le odierne via I settembre e Bernardino de Cardenas y Portugal, duca di Maqueda.
A point that is very popular in the evening due to the presence of numerous clubs. The Four Fountains of Messina constituted a scenographic apparatus located in the crossroads between the sixteenth-century via Austria and Cardines. Respectively today's via I Settembre and Bernardino de Cardenas y Portugal, Duke of Maqueda.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In realtà si tratta delle rimanenti due fontane del complesso monumentale delle 4 fontane che furono realizzate rispettivamente nel 1714 e nel 1742 e un tempo abbellivano il quadrivio. In marmo bianco con vasche e abbellite da tritoni e cavallucci marini; le due fontane mancanti, realizzate nel 1666 e nel 1742, rimangono custodite presso il Museo Regionale della Città dello Stretto.
In reality these are the remaining two fountains of the monumental complex of the 4 fountains which were built respectively in 1714 and 1742 and once embellished the crossroads. In white marble with basins and embellished with tritons and seahorses; the two missing fountains, built in 1666 and 1742, remain kept in the Regional Museum of the City of the Strait.
