Ho pubblicato con loro e mi sono trovato bene: sono free, nessuna pressione, celeri nelle richieste e collaborativi con le librerie. Anche come lettore non ho riscontrato problemi nell'ordinare on line i loro libri. Ovviamente possono migliorare, ma grazie all'entusiasmo partono da un livello superiore alle case editrici del loro livello. Poi Paolo è una forza.... Porto Seguro is a young publishing house that works in a very complex reality like the publishing one. I published with them and I was happy: they are free, no pressure, quick in requests and collaborative with libraries. Even as a reader I have not encountered any problems ordering their books online. Anche Paolo si è dimostrato disponibile a partecipare alle presentazioni con contributi non acritici sulle opere. Ora so che sta cercando di rafforzare la stessa rete commerciale, punto debole di molte case editrici locali. Se sarà così darà un contributo ancora più significativo ai tanti talenti che spesso le logiche economiche delle case maggiori non vogliono riconoscere. A breve dovrebbe uscire un libro di racconti sul Covid realizzato insieme a Massimo Acciaio, un bravissimo autore, e collaboratore proprio di Porto Seguro. Porto Seguro was the publishing house of my first short story books and my first novel. Paolo also proved willing to participate in the presentations with non-critical contributions on the works. Now I know that he is trying to strengthen the commercial network itself, which is the weak point of many local publishing houses. If this is the case, it will make an even more significant contribution to the many talents that the economic logic of the major houses often does not want to recognize. A book of short stories on Covid should be released soon, created together with Massimo Acciaio, a very good author, and collaborator of Porto Seguro.

I collaboratori seguono con attenzione tutti gli autori che scelgono di pubblicare, dandogli voce in una o più presentazioni ai lettori. Per essere una casa editrice relativamente nuova, mostra margini di crescita notevole. Se posso dare un consiglio, io cercherei di segmentare il pubblico laddove sembri necessario, creando incontri con appassionati di poesia per i poeti, con chi è interessato a letture critiche per i saggisti e così via. Investono senza chiedere soldi agli autori, magari non stampano moltissime copie ma se un libro è richiesto viene ristampato. Ho pubblicato un romanzo con loro e non hanno preteso un centesimo ma solo di essere attivo nell'autopromozione, il che mi sembra più che giusto. Per quanto riguarda la distribuzione durante il lockdown sono stato contattato da una persona a cui il libro ordinato non arrivava, evidentemente per problemi nella distribuzione dato che era stato spedito. Si sono attivati subito per rimandare un'altra copia. Serious, professional and courageous. It's not for everyone to take risks on their own in times like this. They invest without asking for money from the authors, maybe they don't print many copies but if a book is requested it is reprinted. I published a novel with them and they didn't demand a dime but just to be active in self-promotion, which seems more than fair to me. Regarding the distribution, during the lockdown I was contacted by a person to whom the ordered book did not arrive, evidently due to problems in the distribution since it was shipped. They took action immediately to postpone another copy.

Li ho contattati per pubblicare il mio primo romanzo e fin da subito, Paolo ed Emilia, sono stati gentilissimi, professionali e molto competenti. Sempre presenti per il lancio, disponibili e pazienti, mi hanno supportata al meglio, con consigli su misura per me ed il mio lavoro. Appena finirà questa emergenza epidemiologica gli affiderò anche il secondo manoscritto, poi il terzo, il quarto e via e via ? Ho pubblicato con loro un romanzo e se lo vorranno pubblicherò ancora con il loro marchio; purtroppo, per seri problemi personali, non sono stato attivo nella promozione, ma cercherò di riparare.
