Una delle ultime importanti testimonianze della Modica Medievale pre terremoto 1693...uno dei ragazzi volontari mi ha fatto una splendida e completa spiegazione .. Consiglio la visita .. Aperto tutti i giorni..
I was visiting this new site behind the Chiesa del Carmine in Piazza Matteotti .. One of the last important testimonies of medieval Modica pre earthquake 1693 ... one of the volunteer boys gave me a splendid and complete explanation .. I recommend the visit. . Open every day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sono stato al portale mosso dalla mia curiosità di scoprire cose nuove e particolari. Sono rimasto molto soddisfatto da quello che ho trovato. Un esempio gotico in una città prettamente barocca. Da non perdere. Penso che ripasserò a visitarlo. Tra l'altro è ammirevole il lavoro svolto dall'associazione Placido Carrafa!
I was at the portal moved by my curiosity to discover new and particular things. I was very satisfied with what I found. A Gothic example in a purely Baroque city. Not to be missed. I think I'll come back to visit it. Among other things, the work done by the Placido Carrafa association is admirable!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il portale è bellissimo. Non immaginavo che a Modica fosse conservato così bene un portale in stile gotico. Risale addirittura al 1250. Li vicino insiste anche l'ossaio del convento carmelitano. Molto suggestivo. Vi consiglio vivamente la visita. I ragazzi poi sono gentilissimi e preparatissimi. Si vede che amano la storia e credono in quello che fanno!
The portal is beautiful. I did not imagine that a Gothic style portal was so well preserved in Modica. It dates back even to 1250. Nearby there is also the ossuary of the Carmelite convent. Very suggestive. I highly recommend the visit. The boys are also very kind and very well prepared. It shows that they love history and believe in what they do!

Presenta alcune parti sopravvissute al terremoto del 1693, di impianto tardo medievale.
After the recent restoration of the ossuary and part of the crypt of the Church of the Carmine, today it can be visited through the will and preparation of the young people of the "Placido Carrafa" Study Center.
