Gli appassionati di Montalbano riconosceranno la farmacia in cui è stato girato un episodio della serie TV, un’attività xa fare se vi trovate a Scicli.
 Beautiful pharmacy with wooden furniture from the early 1900s and many objects from the old pharmacy: ampoules, syringes, extracts, preparations. Montalbano fans will recognize the pharmacy where an episode of the TV series was shot, an activity to do if you are in Scicli.

Visited with a single ticket which also included the beautiful Palazzo Bonelli Patanè, it turned out to be very interesting even if it was really small. Filled with turn-of-the-century objects and memorabilia, it's a real blast from the past

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un curiosissimo e preziosissimo scrigno di tesori farmaceutici che quest'anno festeggerà il suo 120° compleanno. Era l’11 luglio del 1902 quando il farmacista Guglielmo Cartia aprì i battenti della sua bottega di farmaci ed erbe medicinali, fatta arredare ad hoc dall'ebanista sciclitano Emanuele Russino. Dal 6 Aprile 2014 è diventata un museo, un interessante museo di se stessa. Uno spaccato della Belle Époque locale e della scienza farmacologica da allora fino ai tempi nostri. Le vetrine degli scaffali custodiscono ancora centinaia di prodotti tra composti, medicamenti, attrezzi, alambicchi, mortai, provette e medicine più o meno d'epoca. Un fascino senza tempo scelto anche dai registi quale location per alcune scene delle puntate "L'odore della notte" della fiction "Il Commissario Montalbano" e "La stagione della caccia" del ciclo "C'era una volta Vigata", tratti entrambi dai romanzi di Andrea Camilleri.
A very curious and very precious casket of pharmaceutical treasures that this year will celebrate its 120th birthday. It was 11 July 1902 when the pharmacist Guglielmo Cartia opened the doors of his shop selling drugs and medicinal herbs, which had been furnished ad hoc by the Sciclitano cabinetmaker Emanuele Russino. Since 6 April 2014 it has become a museum, an interesting museum of itself. A cross-section of the local Belle Époque and pharmacological science from then to the present day. The display cases of the shelves still hold hundreds of products including compounds, medicines, tools, stills, mortars, test tubes and medicines of more or less period. A timeless charm also chosen by the directors as the location for some scenes of the episodes "The smell of the night" of the fiction "Il Commissario Montalbano" and "The hunting season" of the cycle "Once upon a time Vigata", both taken from novels by Andrea Camilleri.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very interesting place to visit. The old pharmacy is small but has a very interesting history. The lady who works there is amazing! She will tell you so many curious facts and stories not only about the Pharmacy but also about Scicli! Highly recommend!
