Le altre sono state abbattute nel corso dell'ottocento perché danneggiate dai terremoti o per fare spazio all'abitato moderno. Prende il nome dall'ospedale "san giovanni di Dio" che anticamente era situato nelle vicinanze della porta. One of the three Gates of the ancient town of power still visible. La Porta di San Giovanni deve il suo nome all’ospedale gestito dai Fatebenefratelli di San Giovanni di Dio (dal XIII al XVI secolo). L’antica porta presenta un arco a tutto sesto attraversato da una rampa a gradoni. La porta, originariamente affiancata da due torri di avvistamento, è stata ricostruita a causa dei gravi danni riportati a seguito del terremoto del 23 novembre del 1980 ed è oggi inglobata in costruzioni moderne. It was built in the Norman period (11th-12th century). The Porta di San Giovanni owes its name to the hospital managed by the Fatebenefratelli of San Giovanni di Dio (from the 13th to the 16th century). The ancient door has a round arch crossed by a flight of steps. The door, originally flanked by two watchtowers, was rebuilt due to the serious damage reported following the earthquake of November 23, 1980 and is now incorporated into modern buildings.
