Nella parte sottostante della campata scorre il traffico su gomma mentre la parte sovrastante è riservata al traffico ferroviario. Di recente ristrutturato è in una posizione piacevole dove il Ticino si allarga e lascia spazio a piacevoli spiaggie tantoché in estate le ferrovie Nord istituiscono una fermata straordinaria per i bagnanti del Ticino. La spiaggia di ciottoli sottostante è ampia e facilmente accessibile. Nei dintorni ci sono zone attrezzate per grigliare e diversi bar. Bridge now somewhat dated and long covered with scaffolding.
