★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best way to go to Portoferraio and Elbe Island. But to me it looked very expensive (and it was in 2012) as we paid 130€ to go and come back.

It's very Accessible and has a great view.
The staff is quite helpful but isn't always available.
The 2 ferry services: Moby and Toremar are both quite unique
Moby has designed their boats very well( as shown here)
But Toremar has better service in my opinion.
They alternate each half hour and there is almost never any delay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came with 2 cars in a group of 7 and bought tickets from moby & Toremar. When we were cueing an operator told us to stay on the side while randomly selected some cars behind us and told them to proceed, creating a huge mess. It ended up with us split up with one car on board and one that had to wait an hour for the next one. When we tried to ask why all this happened, we also met a man trying to complain, he had his wife on board with no tickets (cause he had them in the car) and they didn't let him in. We thought that the operator selection was based on the cars dimensions, but this wasn't the case, it was just random and he was aldo very rude.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Entry gate to Elba (and not only there). We came two hours earlier before planned departure but we were almost immediatelly allowed to board and leave to our desired destination, isle of Elba. Unfortunately the port is common for both passenger and cargo traffic so your sight needs to spot on huge and awful cranes :)
