★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Altough the beach is more an improvisation aka lying down on hot pavement , the air is so pure and filled with pine aroma, general atmosphere is very relaxed, there are tons of inexpensive caffes and restaurants nearby , the water is nice and deep. Strongly recommend if you're visiting Trieste

Muggia in the nearby is also a must visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this place to bath and swim, pines give perfect shadow and you can spend all the day here without an umbrella. Nice cafe with pizzettas, beer and spritz. But here’s no shower.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Once in Trieste, you should visit this place!! Let it be morning or afternoon or evening, really, it doesn't matter, just go!!!
Take a walk between the sea and the pinewood, stop for a drink or two while taking your time admiring the beautiful view. The Miramar castle on one side, the Vittoria lighthouse and the city side on the other.
Take a deep breath and enjoy!
And there is always some crowd, so take your time and catch up with someone in the meanwhile?!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place for a shaded relaxation outside the otherwise very busy Trieste. Public, free, busy with locals. Access to water is somewhat limited and I wish there was much, much less concrete built around but unfortunately this is so typical for Italy :(.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place to go swim. The parking in the street is free but it's really a crowded place so difficult to get a place. At some places along the beach, you have coffee shops and showers. The beach is made of smooth stones so swimming without shoes is fine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pinewood of Barcola is a great place for a picnic by the sea, it’s very neat and peaceful.
There are some really nice playgrounds for children, so it’s family-friendly as well.
