Consacrata a San Leonardo, risale al 1116 ma dell’originaria struttura si è preservata solo la parte bassa del campanile. Degni di nota sono l'altare maggiore in stile neogotico, il fonte battesimale di Andreas Hofer in marmo bianco e le preziose pitture murali sopra la porta della sagrestia. Dopo aver percorso la ciclabile che parte da Merano, lungo il Passirio, è d'obbligo soffermarsi qualche minuto sul sagrato della chiesa e godere in silenzio del meraviglioso panorama.
The village of San Leonardo in Passiria dominates with the small cemetery.
Consecrated to San Leonardo, it dates back to 1116 but of the original structure only the lower part of the bell tower has been preserved. Noteworthy are the high altar in neo-Gothic style, the baptismal font by Andreas Hofer in white marble and the precious murals above the sacristy door. After having traveled the path that starts from Merano, along the Passirio, it is a must to pause for a few minutes in the churchyard and enjoy the wonderful view in silence.
