Consigliato assolutamente.
A really beautiful route, well maintained, of medium / easy level, authentic because nature is the protagonist along the entire route but man's interventions are targeted and spot on without altering the landscape. The idea of the seven stones that show the way and keep the popular legend alive is truly original. The first part, which is covered starting from the cemetery just outside Castelmezzano, is faced in one breath until the arrival in the valley along the stream, after the Roman bridge begins the tough part, a continuous and sometimes heavy climb but with patience and will manage to close the path in a couple of hours at the most. The valley part for me and my family was the most beautiful point you can breathe a magical and relaxing atmosphere and in addition there is the possibility of stopping and having a nice picnic in the setting of the Lucanian Dolomites. Absolutely recommended.

Castelmezzano and Pietrapertosa are fabolous places for both mountain lovers and families. The Dolomiti Lucane are really impressive and this walk at their feet is magical. Pay attention to the talking stones and don't be afraid...listen to the history about the San Vitus' dance

Forget everything about this path. Its magic resides in the views, in the place you are in. Castelmezzano and Pietrapertosa are such wonderful places, two of the most beautiful I’ve ever been to. This path just connects both towns, and in between you crash into random, man-made stones which supposedly tell you a story via hidden speakers (I could hardly listen to because of course it is in italian) but that’s not half the joy you can get on this trip. If you are here then consider yourself very lucky. The path is just anecdotic. But if you want to do it anyway, keep in mind it may be tiring at moments since there are huge steps and a very long rise on the last part, reaching Pietrapertosa. The concept of the talking stones was a bit weird to me, but try it for yourself. Worst case scenario, you are involved in such a beautiful landscape.
