In stile tardo romanico a navata unica, presenta interessanti lesene sia nella facciata laterale e principale che all'interno, nei pressi degli altari minori. La chiesa è la più antica del paese tanto che Il nucleo abitativo si sarebbe sviluppato attorno ad essa. nel corso dei secoli successivi subì diversi rifacimenti. Interessante l'affresco posto sull'ingresso laterale che raffigura la cattura e l'esecuzione del traditore Chria, affresco databile tra il XVI e XVII secolo. SACCHEGGIO AD OPERA DEI TURCHI DEL 1547: Si narra che il 1° gennaio del 1480 cinque galeoni provenienti dalla Turchia approdarono a Torre Colimena, centro marittimo della vicina Manduria. L'intento era depredare la vicina Avetrana ma, accortosi che la cittadella era ben fortificata con Torre, mura e case torri, e pensando che avrebbero subito innumerevoli perdite umane, decisero di spostarsi più a est nel vicino casale di San Pancrazio. Un drappello di 400 uomini sotto la guida dell'Avetranese Chria, giunsero nel piccolo casale saccheggiandolo e distruggendolo, facendo dei pochi superstiti degli schiavi che furono deportati e venduti in Turchia. Così come riporta l'affresco in chiesa, i pochi abitanti scampati alla deportazione Turca, riuscirono a catturare il traditore Chria che fu "martirizzato" dai popolani. Potete trovare alcune foto fatte nei pressi della scuola elementare di Via stazione, di affreschi realizzati dai ragazzi delle elementari. The church dedicated to S. Antonio was built in the XII century. In late Romanesque style with a single nave, it has interesting pilasters both in the side and main facade and inside, near the minor altars. The church is the oldest in the country, so much so that the housing nucleus developed around it. over the following centuries it underwent several renovations. Interesting is the fresco placed on the side entrance which represents the capture and execution of the traitor Chria, a fresco dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. SACKING BY THE TURKS IN 1547: It is said that on 1 January 1480 five galleons from Turkey landed in Torre Colimena, the maritime center of nearby Manduria. The intent was to prey on nearby Avetrana but, realizing that the citadel was well fortified with tower, walls and tower houses, and thinking that they would suffer countless human losses, they decided to move further east to the nearby farmhouse of San Pancrazio. A group of 400 men under the leadership of the Avetranese Chria, arrived in the small farmhouse, sacking and destroying it, making the few survivors of the slaves who were deported and sold to Turkey. As reported by the fresco in the church, the few inhabitants who escaped the Turkish deportation managed to capture the traitor Chria who was "martyred" by the common people.
