L'edificio si presenta infatti in stile romanico, seppur con elementi successivi di tipo gotico, come le finestre bifore ad archi ogivali del campanile e i pinnacoli sulla facciata, o settecentesco, come il pronao. Small church in the ancient medieval quarter of Biella Piazzo. The building is in fact in Romanesque style, albeit with later Gothic elements, such as the mullioned windows with pointed arches of the bell tower and the pinnacles on the façade, or eighteenth-century, such as the pronaos.

Il campanile, così come gli interventi sulla facciata, sono di un periodo successivo. Adiacente era presente un antico ospedale di cui oggi non vi è più traccia. Non è sempre aperta al pubblico. The church of San Giacomo, of medieval origin, is one of the oldest buildings in the city present at the Piazzo. The bell tower, as well as the interventions on the facade, are of a later period. Adjacent there was an ancient hospital of which there is no trace left today. It is not always open to the public.

All’interno della Chiesa sono conservate varie opere di interesse artistico, forse necessita di qualche restauro The church is very beautiful and is the oldest medieval building preserved in Piazzo. Nel secolo successivo alla facciata ed al campanile vennero aggiunti elementi gotici, come i pinnacoli della prima e le bifore ad archi ogivali del secondo. Il pronao è invece seicentesco. L'interno, rimaneggiato a più riprese fino al XIX Secolo, conserva un trittico quattrocentesco di Daniele De Bosis (documentato dal 1479 - prima del 1505), pittore attivo anche nell'area del novarese: suoi sono gli affreschi che decorano l'abside dell'Oratorio della Madonna del Latte a Gionzana. Purtroppo l'edificio non è sempre visitabile. The church was built during the thirteenth century in Romanesque style. In the following century, Gothic elements were added to the façade and the bell tower, such as the pinnacles of the first and the mullioned windows with pointed arches of the second. The pronaos, on the other hand, dates back to the 17th century. The interior, remodeled several times up to the 19th century, preserves a 15th century triptych by Daniele De Bosis (documented from 1479 - before 1505), a painter also active in the Novara area: his are the frescoes that decorate the apse of the 'Oratory of the Madonna del Latte in Gionzana. Unfortunately the building is not always open to visitors.

L'ho trovata quasi sempre chiusa ma dovrò di riuscire a visitarla prima di lasciare la città. Collegata alla Via Francigena e alla rete delle chiese del Cammino di Compostella.
