Ambrogio è dovuto ad i rapporti che, da sempre, la diocesi della cittadina ha avuto con il capoluogo lombardo. This is the largest church in Alassio. Despite having had many restorations, it seems that this church dates back to the year 1,000 and the name S. Ambrogio is due to the relationships that, always, the diocese of the town had with the Lombard capital.

Questa, in stile romanico, era caratterizzata da un alto campanile cuspidato romanico-gotico che presentava sulle quattro facce più ordini di bifore e trifore. The church of Sant'Ambrogio was built between 1455 and 1507 in the same place as a previous 11th century church. This, in Romanesque style, was characterized by a high Romanesque-Gothic spire bell tower which featured several orders of mullioned windows and three-mullioned windows on the four sides.

La conosco da anni ed é la parrocchia della parte della famiglia che vive ad Alassio per cui mi capita di frequentarla per Comunioni, Cresime e Messe domenicali. Il parroco é per diversi versi veramente eccezionale (omelie, voce, canto, organizzazione) per cui ne consiglio non solo la visita ma anche la frequentazione.Le chiese non sono solo architettura. It is a beautiful and well-kept church in the center of Alassio overlooking a small square, with a few benches and a few trees, bordering the Via Aurelia which crosses the city. I have known it for years and it is the parish of the part of the family that lives in Alassio so I frequent it for Communions, Confirmations and Sunday Masses. The parish priest is in many ways truly exceptional (homilies, voice, song, organization) so I recommend not only the visit but also the attendance. The churches are not just architecture.

Appena sei all'esterno e ti siedi su una delle panchine adiacenti, la vista e il silenzio ti fanno sentire in pace con te stesso. Da provare se si è ad Alassio. Place that leaves you with emotions. Needless to add praise for the interior. As soon as you are outside and sit on one of the adjacent benches, the view and the silence make you feel at peace with yourself. Try it if you are in Alassio.
