Ampliata nel XVIII secolo sul sito di una precedente chiesa antica, fu modificata la posizione dell'ingresso principale che oggi si affaccia su una piazzetta di dimensioni ridotte a ridosso della ferrovia. Esternamente la facciata imponente è movimentata da lesene e cornici, con elementi concavi e convessi, nicchie e pseudo frontone curvilineo, ha il portone sormontato da una finestra simil ovale e due campanili di altezze leggermente differenti e posti obliquamente rispetto al prospetto della facciata. Internamente presenta un'unica navata con una grandiosa cupola all'incrocio del transetto. Purtroppo alcuni affreschi non sono più leggibili. Parrocchia molto attiva, vengono officiate numerose Messe e svolte attività correlate Beautiful late Baroque church dedicated to St. Matthew the Apostle in Laigueglia. Enlarged in the 18th century on the site of a previous ancient church, the position of the main entrance was changed, which today overlooks a small square close to the railway. Externally the imposing façade is enlivened by pilasters and cornices, with concave and convex elements, niches and pseudo curvilinear pediment, has the door surmounted by an oval-like window and two bell towers of slightly different heights and placed obliquely with respect to the façade elevation. T	Ti dell'o on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ È una bellissima chiesa tardo barocca situata in piazza San Matteo (da cui il nome) al centro di Laigueglia, costruita nel 600 e rimaneggiata nel 700 con l'aggiunta di due splendidi campanili. Guardandola dall'esterno, risulta molto imponente anche se un po' sacrificata nella piazza e sicuramente da ristrutturare ma una volta superato l'enorme portone di legno, risulta immensa e straordinaria. Un vero gioiello architettonico. Ammetto avermi lasciata senza parole. It is a beautiful late Baroque church located in Piazza San Matteo (hence the name) in the center of Laigueglia, built in 600 and remodeled in 700 with the addition of two splendid bell towers. Looking at it from the outside, it is very imposing even if a little sacrificed in the square and certainly to be restored but once you have passed the huge wooden door, it is immense and extraordinary. A true architectural jewel. I admit I was left speechless.

Sita in provincia di Savona, è uno splendido ed antico luogo di culto cattolico, e appartiene alla diocesi di Albenga. Il complesso ci appare come un insieme unitario di barocchetto ligure, benchè i lavori per portare la chiesa al suo splendore siano proseguiti per più decenni. Splendidi l'altare maggiore e il Cartelame più grande d'Italia, recentemente restaurato. Visita consigliatissima. The Church of San Matteo is located in the municipality of Laigueglia. Located in the province of Savona, it is a splendid and ancient place of Catholic worship, and belongs to the diocese of Albenga. M	Mariateresa Peluso on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situata nel centro di Laiguaglia, domina tutta la cittadina e dall'alto si può ammirare un panorama mozzafiato. L'ho visitata con una guida tanti anni fa, ma ricordo ancora con piacere la bellezza di questa chiesa. E' una chiesa barocca restaurata e dall'aspetto elegantissimo, si erge imponente ed è ben visibile da tutta la città. All'interno si possono ammirare affreschi realizzati da artisti locali, mentre in alto presenta due caratteristiche torri campanarie. Consiglio la visita guidata, perchè la guida è molto competente e spiega accuratamente la suggestiva storia di questa bellissima chiesa. Located in the center of Laiguaglia, it dominates the whole town and from above you can admire a breathtaking view. I visited it with a guide many years ago, but I still remember with pleasure the beauty of this church. It is a restored Baroque church with a very elegant appearance, it stands imposing and is clearly visible from all over the city. Inside you can admire frescoes made by local artists, while at the top it has two characteristic bell towers. I recommend the guided tour, because the guide is very competent and carefully explains the evocative history of this beautiful church.
