En général on jette toujours un coup d’œil dans les églises. Mais la on a été surpris! Les petits escaliers qui descendent en bas dans une salle digne d’un film !, la plaque vitrée a traverser pour passer dans une pièce au plafond incroyable, donnent à ce lieu un caractère mystérieux et atypique. Vraiment agréable visite . Clearly worth the detour. What a surprise to have fallen on this cathedral! We were strolling quietly. In general we always look at the churches. But we were surprised! The small stairs that go down in a room worthy of a movie !, the glass plate to cross to pass in a room with incredible ceiling, give to this place a mysterious and atypical character. T	Tarcisio Riva on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Santa Maria Assunta è un meraviglioso esempio di architettura romanica, annunciato già dall'esterno e dalla possente torre campanaria, anche se un po' snaturata da interventi in epoca più moderna. La facciata ha il protiro e il presbiterio è sormontato dal tiburio ottagonale. L'interno è poesia pura: pilastri, archi, costoloni...pietra che diventa preghiera. L'altare è sopraelevato dalla presenza della cripta. L'adiacente battistero ottagonale è stupendo e conserva frammenti di decorazioni scultoree originali. Santa Maria Assunta is a wonderful example of Romanesque architecture, already announced from the outside and by the mighty bell tower, although a little distorted by interventions in more modern times. The facade has the prothyrum and the presbytery is surmounted by the octagonal lantern. The interior is pure poetry: pillars, arches, ribs ... stone that becomes prayer. A partire dalle sue fondamenta Dove si trovano le rovine dell'antica chiesa romana, per poi scendere di un piano per ritrovarci nel battistero dalla tipica forma ottagonale ed infine ma non per ultima fermarsi a rimirare la Cattedrale medievale con degli scorci che lasciano a bocca aperta . Eretta fra l'ottocento e il milleduecento D.C. è ricca di reperti al suo interno, molti conservati nel Museo del Battistero da cui si accede da un ingresso posto sul lato sinistro dell'altare maggiore. A metà del secolo scorso è stata restaurata e riportata all'originario stile romanico, il che conferisce all'edificio un indubbio senso di elevata spiritualità. The Ventimiglia Cathedral is a spectacular example of a Romanesque style church. Erected between the nineteenth and twelve hundred AD. it is rich in finds inside, many preserved in the Baptistery Museum which is accessed from an entrance on the left side of the main altar. In the middle of the last century it was restored and brought back to its original Romanesque style, which gives the building an undoubted sense of high spirituality.
