A	Alfonso Caruso on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cattedrale antichissima in stile normanno. Meravigliosa fuori e un po' piu sobria dentro. Numerosi i tesori custoditi all'interno con i gioielli delle regine e dei vari alti prelati che si sono succeduti nei secoli ricchi di oro , argento e pietre preziose. Il tutto catalogato e numerato in leggii posti vicino alle teche da leggere autonomamente. Infatti non c'è nessuna guida che spiega il valore o la storia di questi tesori nemmeno quella telematica ma soltando dei premurosi soggetti che controllano se si è dotati di biglietto e nient'altro. Ma questo è tipico ,ormai. Lasciando perdere queste noti dolenti si rimane affascinati dalla maestà della struttura e dei suoi numerosi quadri. Nelle cripte si possono ammirare più di 20 tombe scolpite in pietra, alcune decorate con mosaici intarsiati ,molto antiche. La cosa piu impressionante è stare al cospetto delle sei tombe monumentali che custodiscono i resti dell'Imperatore Federico 2° e della famiglia imperiale. Il grande imperatore, colto e amante delle belle arti, che ha governato nel Regno delle due Sicilie e che x merito suo ancora oggi possiamo ammirare in tutto il Sud Italia di edifici e opere di grande storia e bellezza. Ai lati di queste tombe si sale x una scala a chiocciola in pietra ,dagli scalini alti e impegnativi, verso il tetto della cattedrale. Qui si gode di un panorama stupendo in cui si scorgono i numerosi campanili e cupole delle chiese di Palermo. Davvero una bella sensazione!!! Very old cathedral in Norman style. Wonderful outside and a little more sober inside. Numerous treasures are kept inside with the jewels of the queens and the various high prelates who succeeded each other in the centuries rich in gold, silver and precious stones. All cataloged and numbered in lecterns placed near the display cases to be read independently. In fact, there is no guide that explains the value or the history of these treasures, not even the telematic one, but only the thoughtful subjects who check if they have a ticket and nothing else. But this is typical now. Leaving aside these well-known sorrows one remains fascinated by the majesty of the structure and its numerous paintings. In the crypts you can admire more than 20 graves carved in stone, some decorated with inlaid mosaics, very old. The most impressive thing is to stay in the presence of the six monumental tombs that guard the remains of Emperor Frederick II and the imperial family. The great emperor, cultured and lover of the fine arts, who ruled in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and that for merit even today we can admire throughout the South of Italy buildings and works of great history and beauty. On the sides of these tombs you climb a stone spiral staircase, from the high and demanding steps, towards the roof of the cathedral. Here you can enjoy a wonderful panorama where you can see the numerous bell towers and domes of the churches of Palermo. Really a good feeling !!!
