★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Palazzo Sturzo si trova nel piazzale Luigi Sturzo all’EUR, Quartiere XXXII.
Fu costruito verso la fine degli anni 50 per essere la seconda sede della Democrazia Cristiana, la prima era quella famosa in Piazza del Gesù.
La sua struttura lo fa assomigliare ad un Palazzo Rinascimentale rielaborato in modo moderno, nell’architettura e nell’utilizzo di nuovi materiali, con il tratto dominante di alternare in ogni piano la forma e la dimensione degli elementi.
Per esempio il grande porticato, con grandi aperture con arco ribassato, intervallate da aperture rettangolari e poi il grande risalto del cosiddetto “Piano nobile” che caratterizza l’edificio con ampie finestre con frontoni curvilinei stilizzati in cemento.
Poi sono presenti due piani con piccole finestre di dimensioni diverse e infine il piano attico.
Conclude l’opera un cornicione molto aggettante e il tetto con tegole.
Un palazzo a mio parere con una grande cura nei particolari e molto bello esteticamente.
Palazzo Sturzo is located in Piazzale Luigi Sturzo in the EUR, District XXXII.
It was built in the late 1950s to be the second seat of Christian Democracy, the first being the famous one in Piazza del Gesù.
Its structure makes it resemble a Renaissance Palace reworked in a modern way, in architecture and in the use of new materials, with the dominant feature of alternating the shape and size of the elements on each floor.
For example the large porch, with large openings with a lowered arch, interspersed with rectangular openings and then the great prominence of the so-called "noble floor" which characterizes the building with large windows with stylized curved pediments in concrete.
Then there are two floors with small windows of different sizes and finally the attic floor.
A very protruding cornice and a tiled roof ends the work.
A building in my opinion with great attention to detail and very beautiful aesthetically.
