S	Stefano Cozzi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa dei Santi Vincenzo ed Anastasio (due martiri, uno spagnolo e l’altro persiano ) eretta nel 1140, sul posto di una molto più antica, nella sua semplice e spoglia austerità si presenta come uno dei migliori esempi laziali di chiesa abbaziale cistercense. L’interno è diviso in due parti da una cancellata, che delimita la zona di clausura dei monaci Trappisti, ordine della famiglia benedettina. Molto bello è il portico antistante la chiesa, dove sull’architrave, in un latino abbastanza semplice, viene ricordato come “Innocenzo II, Pontefice Massimo, della famiglia degli Anici Papi Papareschi, ora Mattei, superato lo scisma di Anacleto grazie all'opera di san Bernardo, a lui e ai suoi Cistercensi donò questo monastero dopo averlo fatto restaurare nell'anno del Signore 1140”. Assolutamente da non perdere, per i credenti ovviamente ma anche per i non credenti, le suggestive messe che si svolgono, con parti in latino e canti gregoriani, nelle notti di vigilia del Natale e della Pasqua, quando viene aperta la cancellata, per avvicinare i fedeli ai monaci adunati attorno all’altare. The Church of Saints Vincent and Anastasius (two martyrs, one Spanish and the other Persian) erected in 1140, on the site of a much older one, in its simple and bare austerity it is presented as one of the best examples of the Cistercian abbey church in Lazio. The interior is divided into two parts by a gate, which defines the enclosed area of the Trappist monks, order of the Benedictine family. Very beautiful is the portico in front of the church, where on the architrave, in a fairly simple Latin, it is remembered as “Innocent II, Pope Maximus, of the Anici Papareschi family, now Mattei, having overcome the schism of Anacleto thanks to the work of St. Bernard, to him and his Cistercians, he gave this monastery after having it restored in the year of the Lord 1140 ". Absolutely not to be missed, for believers of course but also for non-believers, the evocative masses that take place, with parts in Latin and Gregorian chants, on Christmas Eve and Easter nights, when the gate is opened, to bring closer the faithful to the monks gathered around the altar.

Costruita interamente in laterizio, presenta un'alta facciata a doppio spiovente e un portico tetrastilo composto da colonne di marmo orientale e capitelli ionici. DI aspetto sobrio e austero, la chiesa ha una pianta a croce latina, con abside quadrata, cappelle laterali e tre navate. Nel centro della crociera, al posto della cupola, le navate si incontrano attraverso tre archi a tutto sesto, che danno accesso al presbiterio e alla navata trasversa. A sinistra dell'edificio, è presente un antico chiostro, attualmente non visitabile poiché luogo di clausura. The church of Santi Vincenzo e Anastasio, founded by Honorius (625) and rebuilt by Honorius III (1221), is the largest of the three. Built entirely in brick, it has a high double-sloping facade and a tetrastyle portico composed of oriental marble columns and Ionic capitals. With a sober and austere appearance, the church has a Latin cross plan, with a square apse, side chapels and three naves. In the center of the cross, instead of the dome, the naves meet through three round arches, which give access to the presbytery and to the transverse nave. To the left of the building, there is an ancient cloister, currently not open to visitors as it is a cloistered place.
