★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Conosciuta come “Casa dell’Asti”, Palazzo Gastaldi, che si affaccia su piazza Roma nel centro di Asti, è degna sede del Consorzio Consorzio per la Tutela dell’Asti DOCG.
Il palazzo è stato eretto nel 1898, come ricorda una targa bronzea sulle scale con l'effigie di Giovanni Gastaldi, "per se e per i suoi cari". Il progettista era l'architetto Cav. Benzi, allora famoso in Asti.
L'edificio presenta una facciata piuttosto anonima, nello stile eclettico che andava di moda tra le famiglie abbienti alla fine dell'Ottocento.
Anche verso il cortile, il porticato neoclassico non ha nulla di notevole.
All'interno invece il nuovo stile liberty ha modo di mostrarsi in tutto il suo splendore già sulle scale e ancora di più nell'appartamento oggi sede del Consorzio: statue, arredi, lampadari, ferri lavorati in frutta, fiori e foglie.
Senz'altro da consigliare in un ideale percorso di Asti Liberty.
 Known as “Casa dell'Asti”, Palazzo Gastaldi, which overlooks piazza Roma in the center of Asti, is the worthy seat of the Consortium for the Protection of the Asti DOCG.
The palace was erected in 1898, as recalled by a bronze plaque on the stairs with the effigy of Giovanni Gastaldi, "for himself and his loved ones". The architect was the architect Cav. Benzi, then famous in Asti.
The building has a rather anonymous facade, in the eclectic style that was fashionable among wealthy families at the end of the nineteenth century.
Even towards the courtyard, the neoclassical portico has nothing remarkable.
Inside, instead, the new Art Nouveau style shows itself in all its splendor already on the stairs and even more in the apartment now home to the Consortium: statues, furnishings, chandeliers, irons worked in fruit, flowers and leaves.
Certainly to be recommended in an ideal itinerary of Asti Liberty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bello fuori e altrettanto bello e suggestivo dentro, Palazzo Gastaldi si trova in Piazza Roma subito dietro il Monumento dedicato all'Unità d'Italia.
