K	Kaffenback on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il castello, o palazzo ducale, dei Castromediano-Limburg è una costruzione della seconda metà del XV secolo con aggiunte strutturali e rifacimenti affettuati nel corso del Cinquecento e del Seicento. Il nobile prospetto presenta un ingresso quattrocentesco, mentre del XVI secolo è la merlatura e il bastione. Il lato nord della fabbrica fu aggiunto nel Seicento. L'interno, caratterizzato da un atrio in cui è posizionata una statua in pietra lecceseraffigurante Kiliano di Limburg, capostipite della famiglia Castromediano, ospita vasti ambienti decorati con elementi architettonici tipici del periodo barocco. Di particolare pregio artistico sono la galleria, la cui volta a crociera è arricchita dai simboli dello zodiaco, la sala delle armi e il salotto. Quest'ultima sala è impreziosita da due dipinti, dei quali uno è attribuibile al pittore leccese Oronzo Tiso. Il castello è anche dotato di una piccola cappella ingentilita dagli altari dedicati alla Madonna Addolorata e alla Madonna di Leuca e da alcuni dipinti di Gianserio Strafella. La proprietà della struttura è divisa fra il Comune di Cavallino e la Provincia di Lecce. The castle, or ducal palace, of the Castromediano-Limburg is a construction of the second half of the fifteenth century with structural additions and renovations made during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The noble front has a fifteenth-century entrance, while the battlements and the bastion are from the sixteenth century. The north side of the factory was added in the seventeenth century. The interior, characterized by an atrium in which a statue in Leccesera stone representing Kiliano of Limburg, progenitor of the Castromediano family, is located, houses vast rooms decorated with typical architectural elements of the Baroque period. Of particular artistic value are the gallery, whose cross vault is enriched by the symbols of the zodiac, the weapons room and the living room. The latter room is embellished with two paintings, one of which is attributable to the Lecce painter Oronzo Tiso. The castle also has a small chapel refined by the altars dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows and the Madonna di Leuca and some paintings by Gianserio Strafella. The ownership of the structure is divided between the Municipality of Cavallino and the Province of Lecce.

E	Emg64 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ho provato a visitarlo entrando salendo le scale che portano al palazzo, ma senza indicazioni e con l'idea che fossero appartamenti privati. L'ultimo aveva la porta socchiusa ma nessuno a risposto alla mia richiesta di entrata... il palazzo è molto trasandandato e nel cortile parcheggiano auto come fossero in garage. I tried to visit it by going up the stairs that lead to the building, but without indications and with the idea that they were private apartments. The last one had the door ajar but no one responded to my request for entry ... the building is very untidy and in the yard they park cars like they were in the garage.

Bisognerebbe fare moltissimo di più per rilanciarlo a livello turistico e per conservarlo molto meglio rispetto alla situazione attuale. Definitely beautiful and eye-catching. It has an important history behind it and deserves to be seen if you are in the area. Much more should be done to relaunch it on a tourism level and to preserve it much better than the current situation.
