★ ★ ★ ★ ★ È uno dei monumenti storici più importanti del paese. Accessibile in parte e ben ristrutturato. È assolutamente da visitare. Si gode anche una vista mozzafiato a nord-est verso il Tavoliere delle Puglie. Ho dato però, due stelle perché come tutto il patrimonio di Tricarico nn è per niente valorizzato, quasi sempre chiuso e soprattutto credo sia gestito in modo piuttosto semplicistico. Prendete, però, questa mia posizione in modo relativo, perché, appunto, se ne sa poco. Spero che l'ente che ne è proprietario prenda molto più sul serio le potenzialità del monumento e si muova di conseguenza.
It is one of the most important historical monuments in the country. Partially accessible and well restored. It is a must to visit. There is also a breathtaking view to the north-east towards the Tavoliere delle Puglie. I gave, however, two stars because like all the assets of Tricarico nn is not at all valued, almost always closed and above all I think it is managed in a rather simplistic way. Take, however, my position in a relative way, because, precisely, little is known. I hope that the body that owns it takes the potential of the monument much more seriously and moves accordingly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il complesso, che conserva un impianto cinquecentesco e si sviluppa in sale con soffitti lignei e dipinti del ‘700, ospita il Centro Espositivo di Tricarico in cui, dal marzo del 2001, è visitabile una raccolta di reperti archeologici, a testimonianza dell’importanza che l’area del Medio Basento assunse sin dall’età arcaica come punto strategico di comunicazione viaria. È stata la dimora dei conti di Tricarico dopo la donazione del castello normanno alle Clarisse per insediarvi il monastero di Santa Chiara. L'impianto originario va quindi collocato agli inizi del Trecento.
The complex, which preserves a sixteenth-century structure and develops in rooms with wooden ceilings and paintings of the eighteenth century, houses the Tricarico Exhibition Center where, since March 2001, a collection of archaeological finds can be visited, testifying to the importance that the area of the Medio Basento assumed since the Archaic age as a strategic point of road communication. It was the home of the counts of Tricarico after the donation of the Norman castle to the Clarisse to settle the monastery of Santa Chiara. The original plant must therefore be placed at the beginning of the fourteenth century.
