The Palazzo Pretorio, also known as Palazzo delle Aquile, is located in Piazza Pretoria, on the border of the Kalsa district, near the Quattro Canti. It is the representative office of the Municipality of Palermo.
B	Bram du Saar on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Niet veel mensen lopen hier naar binnen, maar het is echt de moeite waard om even een kijkje te nemen. Neem als je eenmaal binnen bent, gerust de trap (achterin) naar boven. Daar zijn de raadszaal, de werkkamer van de burgemeester en de wethouderszaal. Ik had een heel aardige gids (gratis en die uit zichzelf naar mij toe kwam) die veel over het oude paleis en nu stadhuis kon vertellen. Vanuit het stadhuis (op de eerste) kan je ook een mooie foto maken van de San Cataldo. Doe dat bij voorkeur eind van de middag; dan staat de zon goed en is het licht zacht. Not many people walk in here, but it is really worth taking a look. Once you are inside, take the stairs (in the back) upstairs. There are the council chamber, the mayor's office, and the alderman's hall. I had a very nice guide (free and who came to me by himself) who could tell a lot about the old palace and now city hall. From the town hall (at the first) you can also take a nice photo of the San Cataldo. Do this preferably at the end of the afternoon; then the sun is good and the light is soft.

N	Nicolò NR on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il palazzo civile più rappresentativo della città, poiché sede del Comune di Palermo, fu costruito nel 1470 dall’architetto Giacomo Bonfante per volere del pretore Pietro Speciale. Durante i secoli subì innumerevoli trasformazioni, tra le più importanti si ricordano, quella avvenuta nel 1553 quando l’ingresso principale fu spostato dalla piazza Bellini alla piazza Pretoria, e quella avvenuta tra il 1874 e il 1891 ad opera dell’architetto Giuseppe Damiani Almeyda che ha dato l’attuale forma al palazzo. Sulla facciata principale, all’interno di una nicchia, è posta la statua della Santa patrona di Palermo, S. Rosalia, realizzata da Carlo D’Aprile nel 1661; sul coronamento, sulla facciata ed anche all’interno si trovano numerose aquile di diversa fattura, da qui il nome di “Palazzo delle Aquile”: l’aquila è il simbolo della città ed è un retaggio di epoca romana, con il valore di “potere”. All’interno si possono visitare: la Sala Rossa, ovvero lo studio del Sindaco; la Sala Gialla, dove si riunisce la Giunta Comunale; la Sala delle Lapidi, così chiamata per le numerose lapidi che rivestono le sue pareti e che testimoniano importanti fatti ed eventi legati alla storia della città, qui si riunisce il Consiglio Comunale. s	salvo lo giudice on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dato che solitamemte questo luogo é chiuso al pubblico mi sono sentito abbastanza fortunato. Cmq il palazzo é una vera meraviglia con sale veramente prestigiose anche il bunker ti fa rivivere in in certo senso quello che passavano i nostri nonni durante la guerra. Since this place is usually closed to the public, I felt lucky enough. Anyway, the building is a real marvel with truly prestigious rooms, even the bunker makes you relive in a certain sense what our grandparents went through during the war.
F	Francy Smile on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissimo palazzo del XIV Secolo divenuto ora sede del Comune e quindi del Sindaco, Non accessibile a tutti purtroppo se non in rare occasioni. Meritevole di una bella rinfrescata alle tende di velluto rosso che adornano le finestre. E un bel restauro alle lapidi e le opere di marmo presenti nel palazzo non guasterebbe. Beautiful 14th century building which has now become the seat of the Municipality and therefore of the Mayor, Unfortunately not accessible to everyone except on rare occasions. Worthy of a nice refresh to the red velvet curtains that adorn the windows. And a nice restoration of the tombstones and the marble works in the building would not hurt.
