★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Splendido palazzo in stile barocco, antica sede comunale nell'Ottocento, precedentemente palazzo commissionato da ricca famiglia, i Nicastro. Gli esterni per come si ammirano oggi risalgono alla fase post-terremoto e precisamente al 1760, sul prospetto principale è incisa questa data. Il sito è patrimonio dell'Unesco.
Splendid Baroque palace, an ancient municipal seat in the nineteenth century, formerly a palace commissioned by a wealthy family, the Nicastro family. The exteriors as we see them today date back to the post-earthquake phase and precisely to 1760, this date is engraved on the main façade. The site is a UNESCO heritage site.

Purtroppo è chiuso ma potete ammirare il suo stile barocco all'esterno.
You can find it if you walk the stairs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ricostruito in stile barocco nella prima metà del Settecento dalla nobile famiglia Nicastro, nel 1840 divenne il palazzo comunale, sede della “cancelleria” da cui il nome. Incastonato nella ripida ed unica strada che collegava originariamente Ragusa Superiore e Ragusa Inferiore, presenta una facciata piuttosto stretta, delimitata da due vistose lesene, caratterizzata da un bel portale scolpito. Sopra vi è un elegante balcone sorretto da cinque grandi mensole incise con ricami e prospicente una raffinata porta-finestra riccamente decorata. Altri due balconi, simili al principale ma meno aggettanti, decorano la facciata laterale.
Rebuilt in Baroque style in the first half of the eighteenth century by the noble Nicastro family, in 1840 it became the town hall, seat of the “chancellery” hence the name. Set in the steep and only road that originally connected Ragusa Superiore and Ragusa Inferiore, it has a rather narrow facade, bordered by two showy pilasters, characterized by a beautiful carved portal. Above there is an elegant balcony supported by five large shelves engraved with embroidery and facing a refined richly decorated French door. Two other balconies, similar to the main one but less projecting, decorate the side facade.
