Parcheggio gratuito proprio nei pressi dell'ingresso. Il giorno in cui ci sono stato offriva un intero menù a base di cipolla (oltre al menù solito) la regina della mensa popolare di Isernia. Il menù è semplice, pochi primi, pochi secondi tutti a base di carne (giustamente!) con contorni semplici. Insomma una vera osteria di altri tempi, gestori alla mano, presenti e disponibili, ma non onnipresenti, genuinità massima e prezzi veramente bassi, certo non abbiamo strafatto, ma un pranzo per due ci è costato 30€ in totale. Allego foto del piattino di Carbonara che in condizioni normali ci potevano mangiare in 3. Homemade cuisine, friendly staff and a jovial atmosphere. Do not go in if you want a combed and cool restaurant, here you can eat well and eat honestly. I enclose photos of the Carbonara saucer that in normal conditions 3 could eat there.

Ottima la carbonara, peccato non aver potuto assaggiare il pancotto! Io quello che ho adorato di più mangiare sono gli spaghetti con il baccalà e le olive! Antipasti stuzzicanti! Ed invece, fortuna che l'ho assaggiata... Una delle più buone mai mangiate... Ovviamente degnissime di assaggio anche le sagne e fagioli, con ajo olio e peperoncino servito a parte. E anche tutto il resto, compreso il servizio di amari e simile alla fine. Grazie Patretern, mi ci voleva! ? Alle pareti e sui muri si alternano diversi momenti e arredi, il che risulta simpatico e familiare. Gentilissimo il personale che, all'antica, ti lascia tutto il tempo per decidere cosa prendere e anche di chiacchierare in pace, nonostante ci fosse il pienone! Interessanti le "sagne" con fagioli, che non avevo mai provato, idem la loro versione della carbonara. Entrambe le preparazioni mancavano un po' di "spinta" (sale?) e i salumi/formaggi non mi hanno particolarmente colpito, nel complesso però pranzo molto piacevole e prezzi nella norma. And the meats / cheeses did not particularly impress me, but overall a very pleasant lunch and prices in the norm.

Simple is best: homemade pasta with beans, tagliatelle with fresh tomato sauce, excellent salads and cheeses, local pork chops and sausages, good local wine. Near the ramp up to the cathedral square. During a recent visit I noticed a real upgrade in the quality of the food. A good, light vegetable soup. Lamb chops were outstanding.
