Owned by the Archconfraternity of San Bernardo, it was built at the foot of the Belvedere hill, along the straight road once crossed by the San Siro stream (now Corso Matteotti). There are few documentary elements that can date with certainty the birth of the brotherhood that took its name from it. The date of the foundation is controversial; the first documentary attestation, however, dates back to 1503, when this Giovanni Bancherio arranged a legacy of three lire in favor of the oratory. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ottimi restauri eseguiti dalla confraternita che risale originariamente alla prima decade del 1200. Ottima l’acustica della chiesa, la volta a “botte”del soffitto ottimizza la sonorità, esaltando l’antico e originale organo settecentesco.
Excellent restorations carried out by the brotherhood which originally dates back to the first decade of 1200. Excellent acoustics of the church, the "barrel" vault of the ceiling optimizes the sound, enhancing the ancient and original eighteenth-century organ.
