★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Museo ben organizzato e moderno, sistemato all'interno di un vecchio convento, ben ristrutturato e luminosissimo. A piano terra, dove si trovava l'antico chiostro, è collocata la tomba dell'atleta, con il suo ricco corredo di suppellettili, sistemato in apposite vetrine. In una sala adiacente è conservata la copia della splendida statua bronzea di Zeus, rinvenuta a Ugento e conservata a Taranto. Al piano superiore sono conservati numerosi reperti, soprattutto ceramiche e monete, rinvenuti nelle tombe messapiche del territorio circostante. Bellissime le cappelle affrescate trovate nell'intercapedine del convento durante i restauri.
 Well organized and modern museum, housed in an old convent, well restored and very bright. On the ground floor, where the ancient cloister was located, is the athlete's tomb, with its rich set of furnishings, placed in special windows. In an adjacent room there is a copy of the splendid bronze statue of Zeus, found in Ugento and preserved in Taranto. On the upper floor are preserved numerous finds, especially pottery and coins, found in the Messapian tombs of the surrounding area. The frescoed chapels found in the cavity of the convent during the restorations are beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Merita una visita sicuramente, il biglietto costa 3 euro ma è cumulabile con altre visite alla cripta del Crocifisso e alla chiesa della Madonna di Costantinopoli per un totale di otto euro. Per la visita di quest'ultime, distanti circa un km, bisogna chiedere al museo e la guida vi accompagnera sul posto.
Definitely worth a visit, the ticket costs 3 euros but can be combined with other visits to the Crypt of the Crucifix and to the Church of Our Lady of Constantinople for a total of eight euros. For the visit of the latter, about one km away, ask the museum and the guide will accompany you there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Museo Archeologico di Ugento e' stata una vera scoperta. Interessantissimo per i reperti esposti nella nuova sede di un antico convento restaurato. Esposizione degli arredi tombali di varie tombe della zona, risalenti alla Magna Grecia, periodo in cui Ugento era centro importante. Peccato che il museo sia poco conosciuto e frequentato.
The Archaeological Museum of Ugento was a real discovery. Very interesting for the exhibits displayed in the new headquarters of an ancient restored convent. Exhibition of the tomb furnishings of various tombs in the area, dating back to Magna Graecia, a period in which Ugento was an important center. Too bad the museum is little known and frequented.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Molto bello, ben curato e ottimi reperti e bellissimi affreschi. Abbiamo fatto la visita del Castello, del museo e della cripta che si trova poco fuori città. La guida è stata molto gentile e ben preparata. Merita davvero una visita.
Very nice, well cared for and excellent finds and beautiful frescoes. We visited the Castle, the museum and the crypt which is located just outside the city. The guide was very nice and well prepared. Really worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Astoundingly interesting and professional museum in this rather small salentinian town. Placed in modernized convent hides a great collection of massepian artifacts, with a whole tomb found on one of the town's streets in the 70'. As a middle-size museum it can be visited within an hour without getting bored. For those who are interested in antiquity it would be a real feast!
