★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ninfeo dorico è un sito archeologico completamente scavato nella roccia, appartenente al primo secolo A.C. Normalmente il sito è chiuso al pubblico. La particolarità di questo luogo è racchiusa nell'insieme degli stili architettonici e negli effetti d'acqua che erano possibili grazie ad un acquedotto scavato nella roccia.
 Doric Nymphaeum is an archaeological site completely excavated in the rock, belonging to the first century BC. The site is normally closed to the public. The peculiarity of this place is contained in the set of architectural styles and in the water effects that were possible thanks to an aqueduct carved into the rock.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Ninfeo Dorico è uno dei monumento facente parte della villa di Domiziano risalente alla prima metà del primo secolo avanti Cristo.
Scavato nella roccia ha la particolarità di essere un concentrato si stili architettonici diversi.
La decorazione architettonica del cornicione è di stile dorico (da cui prende il nome), mentre le mensole ed i capitelli dei pilastri sono di stile ionico.
Il rivestimento è nelle pareti laterali in “opus reticolatum”; e nella volta all’interno in “opus caementicium”.
Due file sovrapposte di nicchie probabilmente alloggiavano statue o dipinti. Sullo sfondo si apre una grotta dove formazioni calcaree testimoniano un antico gocciolamento d’acqua; nel Ninfeo l’acqua giungeva proprio attraverso una canalizzazione scavata nella roccia soprastante.
Sotto al timpano della grotta vi era un gioco d’acqua ottenuto tramite cascate e cascatelle, canali e canalette che venivano alimentati da uno degli acquedotti che solcavano il cratere Albano
Il sito, normalmente chiuso, è visitabile solo in occasione di aperture straordinarie.
The Doric Nymphaeum is one of the monuments belonging to Domitian's villa dating back to the first half of the first century BC.
Excavated in the rock, it has the particularity of being a concentrate of different architectural styles.
The architectural decoration of the cornice is of the Doric style (from which it takes its name), while the shelves and capitals of the pillars are of the Ionic style.
The covering is in the side walls in "opus reticolatum"; and in the vault inside in "opus caementicium".
Two overlapping rows of niches probably housed statues or paintings. In the background there is a cave where limestone formations testify to an ancient dripping of water; in the Nymphaeum the water came precisely through a channel dug into the rock above.
Under the tympanum of the cave there was a game of water obtained through waterfalls and cascades, canals and canals that were fed by one of the aqueducts that plowed the Albano crater
The site, normally closed, can only be visited on the occasion of extraordinary openings.
