Sometimes there's hot water, and they may eventually fix something that's broken in your room, but it's a roof over your head that you'll get to share with a few mosquitos and flies.

Very welcoming staff and nice/comfy rooms. My only issue would be the breakfast needs a little work.

Fantastic accomidations. The staff was nice. The rooms were clean and had fans which helped with cooling. The view outside the door was of Mt Aetna. Sorry though, no elevators.

So this NGIS is pretty run off the mill with some notable differences. There's housekeeping daily, with the exception of when they want to strike or when they just don't feel like it (about once a week or every other week). Sometimes they do the absolute bare minimum and just make your bed, or they go above and beyond. Sometimes they take your towels and forget to give you new ones (you can go to the front desk and they'll give you some), sometimes they give you extra. It is probably the most inconsistent housekeeping I've ever seen. The front desk staff is just as inconsistent. Using our American credit cards that don't interface the same way as European point of sales terminals caused a lot of issues with me and my coworkers, causing us to have to either use personal cards or wait on expensive phone calls with Citibank trying to resolve the issue… only to find out the guy running the terminal doesn't know how to use it if there's any hiccup. No big deal in the long run. Getting information from them can be a real pain if you're not their normal point of contact, no matter the rank: E-6 to 0-3 have all had issues. If you're someone who's interfaced with them on various issues, though, they'll freely give you absolutely anything you ask for, which is pretty disturbing. The amenities in the main building are pretty dang good, a two hot plate range top in your room with a full sized fridge and a deep basin sink. Lots of drawer space and cabinets as well & a microwave / some kind of toaster oven combo box that works well, but is definitely European in it's controls. The WiFi is good, but doesn't work very quickly during peak hours so I would recommend local download of your shows through Netflix and Hulu in case the connection craps out. The water has been an issue with water outages and boil water notices for the first two months of our stay due to construction. If you're not showering between 0545-0700 or 1745-1900 it's best to turn the water on full hot and let it run for a bit as it won't heat up for quite some time. Last note, beware of the stray dogs. Seriously... be careful.

Beds are comfortable and the cleaning people are all friendly. The front office staff are all welcoming and friendly as well. Rooms are decently decorated and have flat screen tvs. Due to the Navy's ridiculous regulations the rooms are set to 24.5C and if you're on the third floor the air is barely cold and blows about as hard as a self made paper fan. The sensors also shut the AC off after you've been sleeping and haven't moved. My room was 26.8C at best, but usually over 28C during the day. Being on night shift it was hard to sleep during the day. For $115 a night it was ridiculous. Don't stay here during the summer. Better yet don't stay here at all. There are better agrotourismo's nearby that are cheaper and include free breakfast.

Cleaning lady Elizabeth is amazing. Not to bad living conditions. You can see etna from the parking lot.

AC has gone out multiple times in the middle of summer for extended periods. Don't expect the hotel staff to be in any rush to fix issues. They'll send maintenance up to "fix" the AC but nothing gets taken care of. If you work a night scheduled be prepared to have your sleep schedule ruined by the cleaning staff. The cleaning staff is very friendly but loud. Other than that rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens aren't bad.
