Si divide in 4 dipartimenti: Archeologia, Medievalistica, Arte e Storia. I primi tre trovano posto nel chiostro della chiesa di Santa Sofia, l'ultimo nel torrione della Rocca dei Rettori. Inoltre dal 1981 al Museo è affidata anche la chiesa di Sant'Ilario a Port'Aurea, che funge da videomuseo dell'Arco di Traiano. Stupendo il chiostro della chiesa di s.sofia. meravigliosa la scultura ottocentesca dell rammendantrice, da sola merita una visita. An unexpected little gem in the center of Benevento, it houses artifacts ranging from the Greek and Samnite civilizations, to Roman and medieval ones. The cloister of the church of s.sofia is amazing. the nineteenth-century sculpture of the mender is marvelous, it alone is worth a visit.
