Interesting place to visit, to learn a bit about some very disturbing and sad times in Rome's history ?. Free entrance but you can donate if you want of course ?, can only recommend it ??

A must visit for insights into the harrowing story of occupation, resistance and hope

Very interesting. We got a free audio guide, which did explain everything very well. It was so empty when we went there. Seems like tourists don't know it exists. Ths museum is also for free but a donation is still very nice to give.

You will learn a lot visiting this museum. It is easy to find on Google Maps when you are in town. Lots of the rooms don't have working displays or are under construction. Every monitor in every room was turned off.

A must see in Rome for those who are reading about history of WW2. The museum is very close to the Manzoni metro station.

An interesting museum documenting the Nazi occupation of Rome. The custodian was patient and helpful. We had booked and paid €50 for a guided tour, but the guide never showed up. Instead we were given the audioguide, which is available in various languages and gives a basic outline of the period and the prison that was housed in the building, but more detailed explanations of some the locations and events described would be helped for non-Romans. Unfortunately the personal stories of the people who were held there are not translated.

For those who have a passion for 20th century history, the museum volunteers will explain how this building was used as a Gestapo prison. A touching experience.

I was incredibly excited to visit this museum and waited outside for over an hour during operating times, called the phone number provided, all to no prevail. I am not sure if the museum decided to simply close early for the day, but regardless it's very frustrating to have the hours posted online and on site not reflect their true openings.
