P	P G on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In questo Museo tra l’altro sono esposti pezzi lapidei provenienti dall'agro di Isernia, risalenti all'epoca romana e precisamente dell'età repubblicana ed imperiale; tra i pezzi esposti (capitelli corinzi, rocchi di colonne, frammenti architettonici, are votive), ve ne sono alcuni di estremo interesse, come per esempio il rilievo con scena di battaglia, che ripete quella del celebre mosaico di Pompei della battaglia di Isso fra Alessandro e Dario. In this museum, among other things, stone pieces from the countryside of Isernia are exhibited, dating back to Roman times and precisely of the republican and imperial age; among the exhibits (Corinthian capitals, column drums, architectural fragments, votive altars), there are some of extreme interest, such as the relief with battle scene, which repeats that of the famous Pompeii mosaic of the battle of Isso between Alessandro and Dario.

Sicuramente di origine romana (forse il mercato di Aesernia, come a Ferentino), diventa convento di suore in epoca longobarda (bellissima la chiesa, distrutta dal bombardamento del 1943, ma ancora leggibile). Ospita il bellissimo lapidario di Aesernia romana, in fase di riallestimento ed ancora chiuso (settembre 2016) e la biblioteca comunale. Very beautiful. Certainly of Roman origin (perhaps the market of Aesernia, as in Ferentino), it became a convent of nuns in the Lombard period (the beautiful church, destroyed by the bombing of 1943, but still legible). It houses the beautiful lapidary of Roman Aesernia, being reorganized and still closed (September 2016) and the municipal library.

Le varie amministrazioni, non si sono curate di questa ricchezza che potrebbe portare tanto turismo, come per il dimenticato Paleolitico. Un vero peccato. A place of history. Many objects to see and remember. There Isernia History for All should learn and know. The various administrations have not taken care of this wealth that could bring so much tourism, as for the forgotten Paleolithic. Such a pity.
