★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Museo della Speranza evoca simbolicamente il bunker in cui fu collocata e attivata nel 1953 la prima apparecchiatura per la telecobaltoterapia, Eldorado A. Il macchinario canadese (uno dei primi esemplari costruiti al mondo) venne portato in Italia grazie all’operato di Claudio Valdagni (oncologo e radiologo trentino). Eldorado A, chiamato popolarmente “la bomba al cobalto”, venne installato nell’Ospedale S. Lorenzo e fu il primo nel suo genere in Italia, facendo di Borgo un centro d’eccellenza nella cura dei tumori.

 The Museo della Speranza symbolically evokes the bunker in which the first equipment for telecobalt therapy was placed and activated in 1953, Eldorado A. The Canadian machine (one of the first examples built in the world) was brought to Italy thanks to the work of Claudio Valdagni ( oncologist and radiologist from Trentino). Eldorado A, popularly called "the cobalt bomb", was installed in the San Lorenzo Hospital and was the first of its kind in Italy, making Borgo a center of excellence in the treatment of cancer.
