★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissima giornata culturale il 15 agosto 2016, trascorsa a Macchia Valfortore, dove con una delegazione di amici abbiamo visitato dapprima uno splendido museo privato della civiltà contadina, solo in minima parte realizzato con intervento pubblico, dal signor Mancini Mario e consorte e subito dopo l'appena ristrutturato e splendente Palazzo Gambacorta, sede di un altro museo civico permanente. La visita è poi continuata nell'appena restaurato Palazzo Gambacorta di proprietà del Comune, dove è stato allestito un museo civico permanente riguardante il territorio della Valle del Fortore. Massimo Mancini con grande disponibilità e professionalità ci ha guidato nel lungo percorso ancora in fase di completamento, spiegandoci con dovizia di particolari, come si presentava quel territorio alcuni milioni di anni fa, con le caratteristiche del tempo, i fossili ritrovati, la fauna, la flora, e non ultimo la Lontra, animale carnivoro da pelliccia, che ancora oggi, a distanza di milioni di anni è presente in tutta l'area del Fortore. Le foto sotto postate documentano una minima parte del patrimonio presente ed esposto. Si consiglia la visione.
Beautiful cultural day on 15 August 2016, spent in Macchia Valfortore, where with a delegation of friends we first visited a splendid private museum of rural civilization, only minimally carried out with public intervention, by Mr. Mancini Mario and his wife and immediately after the newly renovated and shining Palazzo Gambacorta, home to another permanent civic museum. The visit then continued in the newly restored Palazzo Gambacorta owned by the Municipality, where a permanent civic museum was set up concerning the territory of the Valle del Fortore. With great availability and professionalism, Massimo Mancini guided us along the path still being completed, explaining to us in great detail how the territory appeared a few million years ago, with the characteristics of the time, the fossils found, the fauna, the flora, and not least the Otter, a carnivorous fur animal, which even today, millions of years later, is present throughout the Fortore area. The photos below post document a small part of the present and exposed heritage. Viewing is recommended.
