Памятник Павшим в Сульмоне, открылся 2 апреля 1922 года.
Скульптор уроженец Сульмоны Джованни Граната (Giovanni Granata) (1875-1947).
Памятник состоит из алтаря, на котором лежит умирающий солдат, поднимающий крылатую Победу. В начале Второй мировой войны, скульптура была удалена, а элементы отправлены на изготовление пушек. В 1993 году художник Умберто Мальвестуто(Umberto Malvestuto) с сыном Габриэле (Gabriele) воспроизвели копию по фотографиям, но в меньших размерах.
Внимательное и серьезное отношение к памятникам, работам скульпторов! Интересна непростая биография автора.
After searching the Internet, I found out that this is a recovered copy!
Monument to the Fallen in Sulmona, opened on April 2, 1922.
The sculptor is a native of Sulmona Giovanni Granata (1875-1947).
The monument consists of an altar on which a dying soldier lies, raising a winged Victory. At the start of World War II, the sculpture was removed, and the elements were sent to the manufacture of cannons. In 1993, the artist Umberto Malvestuto and his son Gabriele reproduced a copy from photographs, but in smaller sizes.
