★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Luglio. Giriamo per le antiche strade e scopriamo che è possibile fermarsi a parlare con passanti e negozianti, come non succede più da noi. E’ successo anche con Angela, che con il marito gestisce questa cartolibreria. Parliamo come vecchi conoscenti che s’incontrano dopo chissà quanto tempo. Per noi lettori curiosi, alla ricerca di storie meno convenzionali della città, Angela, frugando tra gli scaffali, estrae – come Mary Poppins dalla valigia – tanti libri e gli opuscoli più vari. Raccontano Matera in modo non convenzionale: “La città e il cinema” di Luciano Veglia, “Per Materia si cambia” di Raffaele Giura Longo, “Firenze Matera Lecce” di Oronzo Brunetti, “Riscatto materano” di Riccardo Riccardi. Angela ci racconta la storia della sua famiglia e di questa bottega storica. Della sua passione per il lavoro e dell’amore per la città che con il riconoscimento europeo esce da un isolamento secolare. Prima di venire via, ci affacciamo alla finestra in fondo alla bottega che si apre sul Sasso Barisano. La città appare di una bellezza abbacinante e struggente che prende l’anima.
July. We wander the ancient streets and find that it is possible to stop and talk to passers-by and shopkeepers, as it no longer happens with us. It also happened with Angela, who manages this stationery store with her husband. We speak like old acquaintances who meet after who knows how long. For us curious readers, looking for less conventional stories of the city, Angela, rummaging through the shelves, extracts - like Mary Poppins from the suitcase - many books and the most varied brochures. Matera tells in an unconventional way: "The city and the cinema" by Luciano Veglia, "For Matter is changed" by Raffaele Giura Longo, "Florence Matera Lecce" by Oronzo Brunetti, "Ransom of Matera" by Riccardo Riccardi. Angela tells us the story of her family and of this historical shop. Of his passion for work and love for the city that with European recognition comes from secular isolation. Before leaving, we look out the window at the back of the shop which opens onto the Sasso Barisano. The city appears of a dazzling and poignant beauty that takes the soul.

In fondo al negozio c'è un balconcino dal quale, con il permesso della titolare, si possono fare bellissime foto sui Sassi.
Entering, you can smell the traditional paperwork. It is a wonderful shop, run very well and with passion.
At the end of the store there is a small balcony from which, with the owner's permission, you can take beautiful pictures of the Sassi.
