★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una croce e un panorama mozzafiato. Ho sempre camminato però mai con l'idea di scoprire nuovi luoghi, come un ciclista che deve accumulare km e km senza una meta specifica. Qualcosa è cambiato... i miei contenuti sono si tecnicamente scarsi, li potrei migliorare ma il concetto che deve passare è un altro: ispirazione e curiosità.
Niente di serio, un passatempo senza scopo di lucro.
Oggi Cannobio Sant'Agata Marcalone Monte Giove. Dislivello notevole, circa 2200mt su un sentiero duro, lungo ma mai ostile e in alcuni punti ti aiuta con brevi tratti pianeggianti. In sostanza bello, da rifare passando da altri alpeggi e come meta il nuovo prossimo cucuzzolo.
 A cross and a breathtaking view. But I have always walked with the idea of discovering new places, like a cyclist who has to accumulate km and km without a specific destination. Something has changed ... my contents are technically scarce, I could improve them but the concept that must pass is another: inspiration and curiosity.
Nothing serious, a non-profit pastime.
Today Cannobio Sant'Agata Marcalone Monte Giove. Considerable gradient, about 2200mt on a hard, long but never hostile path and in some places it helps you with short flat stretches. Substantially beautiful, to be redone passing by other pastures and as a goal the new neighboring summit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sehr schöner Gipfel mit toller Aussicht über den Lago Maggiore und ins Val Grande. Mann hat einen Blick auf Locarno, Ascona, Cannobio und am gegenüber liegenden Ufer Maccagno. Der Aufstieg von Cannobio über Sant' Agata und die Alpe Marcalone ist technisch rel. einfach aber etwas Kondition ist gefragt. Der Gipfel selbst ist relativ flach, es ist ein Gipfelkreuz vorhanden und eine sehr schöne künstlerische Steinbank.
Very beautiful summit with great views over Lake Maggiore and the Val Grande. Man has a view of Locarno, Ascona, Cannobio and on the opposite shore Maccagno. The ascent of Cannobio via Sant'Agata and the Alpe Marcalone is technically rel. simply but some condition is needed. The summit itself is relatively flat, there is a summit cross and a very beautiful artistic stone bench.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Faccio una premessa ,il Monte Giove è alto 1298m.
Si raggiunge da Sant Agata, poco prima di arrivare al paese,sulla sinistra si trova un ampio parcheggio.
Da parcheggio si entra nel paese ,dal piazzale della chiesa parte la mulattiera che porta al monte Giove.
L'escursione non è eccessivamente impegnativa,si arriva in vetta seguendo il percorso più breve in circa 2 1/2 ore.
Dalla vetta si gode di un ottimo panorama che spazia dal lago maggiore , alle vette svizzere fino ad arrivare al monte Zeda e sicuramente mi sono dimenticato qualcosa.
Consiglio di fare l'escursione in primavera o autunno, in estate fa troppo caldo, portate acqua,non ci sono molti punti dove rifornirsi.
I make a premise, Monte Giove is 1298m high.
It can be reached from Sant Agata, just before reaching the town, on the left there is a large parking lot.
From the parking lot you enter the town, from the square of the church starts the mule track that leads to Mount Giove.
The hike is not too demanding, you reach the summit by following the shortest route in about 2 1/2 hours.
From the summit you can enjoy an excellent view that stretches from Lake Maggiore to the Swiss peaks up to Mount Zeda and I have certainly forgotten something.
I recommend taking the excursion in spring or autumn, in the summer it's too hot, bring water, there aren't many places to stock up.

Wollte schon seit meinen Jugendbsuchen i d 19siebzigern wissen was da oben ist: Rundblick von Locarno über die Schweizer Berge am Gotthard bis Verbania (und Cannobio gleich unten) herum bis ins Monte Rosa Massiv am Valle Macunaga. Und natürlich ins wilde Valle Cannobina...
Ach ja: etwa 1100m Aufstieg auf 7 km von Cannobio... Und wieder runter... ?
Great panoramic mountain over Cannobio. Ever since I was a teenager in the 1970s, I've wanted to know what's up there: Panoramic view from Locarno over the Swiss mountains on the Gotthard to Verbania (and Cannobio right below) all the way to the Monte Rosa massif on the Valle Macunaga. And of course to the wild Valle Cannobina...
Oh yes: about 1100m ascent to 7 km from Cannobio... And back down... ?
