★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quello che si vede oggi sono i resti di un Casale fortificato medioevale, a sua volta eretto sui resti del monastero dei monaci dei Santi Cosma e Damiano 'Medici di Cristo', protettori di barbieri, farmacisti e medici.
L`insediamento che forse fu l`elemento essenziale per le origini del paese è costituito da un monastero basiliano, intitolato a S. Michele e ai SS. Anargiri (Cosma e Damiano).
Il convento fu edificato nell`anno 1070, anche se il più antico documento che riguarda questo monastero, risale al 1098.
A non molta distanza (500 mt in linea aerea) si trova si trova una chiesa denominata nel cartello "Chiesa campestre dei SS.Cosma e Damiano", ma identificata in cartografia come "S.Cosimo".
What we see today are the remains of a medieval fortified farmhouse, which was in turn built on the remains of the monastery of the monks of Santi Cosma and Damiano 'Medici di Cristo', protectors of barbers, pharmacists and doctors.
The settlement that perhaps was the essential element for the origins of the town is made up of a Basilian monastery, named after S. Michele and the SS. Anargiri (Cosma and Damiano).
The convent was built in 1070, although the oldest document concerning this monastery dates back to 1098.
Not far away (500 meters overhead line) there is a church named in the sign "Rural Church of Saints Cosma and Damiano", but identified in cartography as "San Cosimo".
