★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In pieno centro, risalente alla metà-fine del 1500, questo convento con annessa chiesa ha recentemente rischiato di chiudere per mancanza di suore, rimaste solo in due e di età avanzata.
Nella chiesa si conservano una statua miracolosa del Bambin Gesù e le spoglie della Venerabile Suor M. Benedetta Frey, rimasta nel convento paralizzata per 52 anni, fino alla sua morte.
In the center, dating back to the mid-late 1500s, this convent with adjoining church has recently risked closing due to the lack of nuns, only two of them left and of advanced age.
In the church there is a miraculous statue of the Bambin Gesù and the remains of the Venerable Sister M. Benedetta Frey, who remained in the convent paralyzed for 52 years, until her death.

Passando nel centro storico ci si imbatte ma neanche ci si fa caso se non fosse per quel cartello sopra il portone che ne ricorda la vocazione. All'interno un bambinello ligneo simile a quello dell'ara coeli
Beautiful and famous church which unfortunately is often inaccessible for little garrison ... and in times of covid it does not help. Passing through the historic center you come across but you don't even notice if it weren't for that sign above the door that remembers its vocation. Inside there is a wooden baby similar to that of the ara coeli

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a wonderful sanctuary in the heart of the medieval district of Viterbo. The church is currently undergoing some renovations and should be reopening In a year or so. Whilst the monastery, which is attached to the church remains fully functional, it remains the residence of two dedicated nuns who now rent out spare rooms to needy persons, and for very cheap rent, to assist with the heavy upkeep of the monastery. The sisters (2 nuns) are assisted by local businesses and families and of course nearby monks who tend to the large and charming gardens hidden deep within the sanctuary walls. The two dedicated nuns are also, and always shall be, dearest freinds of my own mother's aunty, i suppose that makes her my extended aunt, Zia Suora Rosa Sfregola, who was also a sister serving God here for the convent for over 40 years (herself). The other two nuns, have served here for 80 years (since 1948) and 40 years consecutively. And they are indeed utterly charming.
