Added to the race as a stop on the camper holiday at the beginning of the year, it turned out to be a really good choice! The visit of the museum and of the tract of mine (faithfully reconstructed) was really engaging thanks above all to our guide who, with passion and participation (the grandfather was one of the many miners in the years of the Second World War), accompanied us back in time ... equipped with a torch! Several stops inside the gallery revive the history of the miners also through the evolution of the techniques and tools used to extract the minerals. There is a multimedia room for viewing the main issues of the place (not only the mine, but also the churches, landscapes, customs ..) and, scattered everywhere, audio speakers for the reproduction of the noises and voices of that time. Even in the miners' lockers! In the external section that leads to the mercury museum, the disused factory appeared evocative, magical and at the same time a little disturbing, immersed in the twilight of the late winter afternoon in an almost unreal atmosphere. It is not possible to access it, of course, but the view of what remains of it is enough and also advances from behind the fence. The ticket price (€ 12) is a ridiculous investment when compared to the service rendered. A journey back in time that lasted almost an hour and a half. Highly recommended! P.s. large and convenient parking immediately at the entrance, even for bulky vehicles such as coaches and campers.

Great experience for kids; the train ride inside the mine is alone well worth the visit

Nice museum with interesting interactive exhibition but unfortunately they dont have english guide. There are some panels translated to english and we found nice italians that translated it for us but it may be a problem...

An interesting experience. The museum was born when the mining activity was closed in 1976. In this mine was extracted the β€œCinabro” mineral (HgS), processed and refined to obtain Mercury. This was the second largest and more productive mine of this mineral in the world after AlmadΓ¨n in Spain. The museum offers a reconstruction of the mining life with a tour inside the galleries by train, a multimedia experience and an exhibition. The most valuable part of the visit, in my opinion, is the description of the life of the workers and the health problems related to the mining activity. The exhibitions and the guided tour are in Italian.
