★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Presso la località "Le Spianate" nel comune di Rosignano Marittimo nel mezzo della boscaglia vi è questa miniera attiva fin dai primi anni del 1900 per l'estrazione della Magnesite (MgCO3) e abbandonata dal 1939. Nonostante il suo totale abbandono è possibile vedere le case dei minatori e l'ingresso della miniera che si è conservato in buono stato dove è possibile entrare, magari dotati di lampade e vedere il cunicolo che si protrae all'interno del poggio.
 At the locality "Le Spianate" in the municipality of Rosignano Marittimo in the middle of the bush there is this mine active since the early 1900s for the extraction of Magnesite (MgCO3) and abandoned since 1939. Despite its total abandonment, it is possible to see the houses of the miners and the entrance to the mine which has been preserved in good condition where it is possible to enter, perhaps equipped with lamps and see the tunnel that extends into the hillock.

Le Spianate), sono state attive miniere di giacimenti filoniani di magnesite (MgCO3) in modo continuativo tra il 1914 e il 1929 e saltuario fino al 1939. Miniera lunga circa 300 m., con deviazione verso un pozzo di aerazione profondo circa 20 m.: all'interno tracce dei vecchi binari dei carrelli impiegati per trasportare le pietre, nonché di una vecchia cisterna. Presenza di numerosi pipistrelli innocui.
In the southern part of the Monti Livornesi, between Campolecciano and Castiglioncello (Loc. Le Spianate), mines of Filonian magnesite deposits (MgCO3) have been active continuously between 1914 and 1929 and occasionally until 1939. Mine about 300 m long ., with deviation towards a ventilation shaft about 20 m deep: inside there are traces of the old tracks of the carts used to transport the stones, as well as an old cistern. Presence of numerous harmless bats.
