★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great selection of old time confections. They carry specialty boxes shaped like the Duomo and the baptisterio. They also wrap chocolate bars in Florentine paper. I popped in today for a marrón glacé (and to hide from the rain) and it was delightful. Confused as to other reviews panning it, the ladies behind the counter where helpful and polite on every visit. Their house vin santo with biscotti is very good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great chocolates, but awful attitude. We live in Florence and you can tell when shop owners think you are just here for a day. We USED to go here once a week, but the other day one of the women who work there gave us such attitude. I felt like saying to her that we were sorry we bothered you by WANTING TO BUY SOMETHING! So, there are plenty of other places in Florence.

In Italy’s Tuscany region, particularly Siena, claims to have been the origin of this dessert although I think it’s a copy of Gaz from Isfahan in Iran! well you be the judge ?
