The restaurant is exactly as shown in the photos. Clean, tidy, with a nice relaxing atmosphere.
The service is great. Average waiting times and nice and polite staff.

This revisited interpretation of the classical Italian "osteria" is charming and an excellent choice for an evening of delicious contemporary takes on Italian classics. Visitors must try the salmon and white chocolate dish!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mesticanza is a hidden gem in castiglione del lago. Outside the city center but a minutes drive or short walk from Centro Storico, you'll find an interesting oasis: creative interior, quiet, a handful of tables, knowledgeable service and interesting wine list that goes beyond umbrian & tuscan wines. Menu selections, though limited, are interesting takes using traditional ingredients with unexpected flavors from around the world. A very refreshing experience and I can't wait to go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice restaurant with a cozy environment. You can tell the products are very fresh, especially the fish, and the preparation is solid. It’s a bit outside of the historical city center which means less touristic as well if you’re looking for a quieter restaurant. Staff was very friendly. Good prices for the quality the restaurant has (20/25EUR pp).
