MAURIZIO STORE - ISCHIA PONTE

I stayed in Ischa Ponte for 3 nights few years ago. There were buses and taxis to the ferry terminal. I took the buses all over Ischia they ran frequently. There were plenty of restauratns and shopping opportunities nearby. The shops are mostly close at 1pm - until perhaps 4, or even 4.30 - so if we might want to do any shopping, we should do it before lunch! However if we want to visit the gardens at La Mortella, bear in mind that they're open only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 09.00 to 19.00. The main town of Ischia is divided in to two parts, Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte. Known to locals simply as "Ischia", Ischia Porto is the main town on the island with just over 16,000 permanent residents. Each of the two towns are collectively known as "Ischia" but as they each have important landmarks, accommodation, restaurants and shopping areas, it makes life easier to split them into two. Ischia Porto is situated in the North-East of the island and is home to the main port on the island from where it's possible to take the ferry or hydrofoil to Naples on the mainland or to take excursions to some of the neighbouring islands such as Procida or Capri. Ischia Ponte is home to one of Ischia's most iconic and intriguing sights, Castello Aragonese, which for many is the symbol of Ischia. Whilst ambling through the winding streets towards the dramatic sight of the medieval castle it's easy to understand why the town has been so fiercely defended throughout its dramatic history.

Small town with do nice Italian Atmosfere. Recommend for people who are looking for calm and queit place with possibility to sit down in nice restaurants.

Very picturesque village with impressive Aragonese castle

This part of Ischia island is breathtaking! It has a Cristal clear water, a beautiful Aragonian castel in the sight, charming little streets and superb restaurants. You can even down a boat rides here. The bus ride from the port costs 1,2 euros , but there are plenty of taxis as well and you can opt for a 30 min walk if it's not too hot. Don't bother renting spots on private beaches, that are always taken and overpriced !

Amazing place! Landscape, atmosphere, people and, needless to say, fantastic food make this place unique. Highly recommended.

This little village is so charming. I loved strolling here at sunset. The view of the castle is just out of a fairy tale. The vibe is relaxed and friendly. Everyone is smiling.
